Police in Ghana’s Western Region have arrested five out of six suspects believed to be involved in an armed robbery attack that targeted two individuals at a spare parts shop in Asankragwa.
According to police reports, the robbery occurred on March 12, 2026, when six armed men stormed a spare parts shop located in the Malta suburb of Asankragwa. The victims, identified as two Chinese nationals, were reportedly attacked by the suspects who made away with GH₵200,000 in cash, mobile phones, and other valuables.
Investigations by the police led to the arrest of five suspects linked to the crime. Authorities also recovered a substantial portion of the stolen money, amounting to approximately GH₵198,200.
In addition to the cash, police retrieved several items believed to have been used in the robbery, including mobile phones, firearms, ammunition, and other exhibits connected to the incident.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations, while security officials continue efforts to track down and arrest the remaining suspect still at large.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order and urged citizens to cooperate with authorities by providing information that may aid in the arrest of the final suspect.
